With help from Aid to Artisans, this rug was made for Jonathan Adler with craft, style and Joy by a very groovy Peruvian family of expert weavers. Every step, from hand-dying the wool to hand-weaving the pattern on the loom, was done with great skill and care. The colors are rich thanks to the hand-dying process, and each rug is unique. Plus, the wool comes from llamas raised at high altitudes in the Andes. High altitude means lots of naturally occurring lanolin, which makes for extremely soft, more stain-resistant, and decidedly durable rugs.
So not only is this rug ultra chic, it is also Cruelty Free: even a zebra would own this rug!
