Holiday Table Style

We just love setting the table at the holidays, and boy did we have fun mixing it up with this one!    As you begin to think about ways to jazz it up this year, Trellis Home has lots fun and festive items to make everyone around the table smile. We included gold, traditional table elements like place cards, crackers (no fun without those!), and elegant Lenox crystal wine glasses.  Then added little glam like the insanely fabulous Scalamandre Zebra china from Lenox, starry night napkins from elson + co, coral (yes, coral) and gold napkin rings and placed it all on top of the supremely chic Easycare skate gold place mats. Then add some whimsy with our adorable swedish straw goat centerpiece and some bamboo lacquer flatware.  Come ON, too fun!  Bring it on, Santa, we can’t wait.  Find it all at trellishome.com/holiday     Merry merry merry to all! xo Allison and Liza       View full article →

Trellis Home Hits High Point

We just got back from our first High Point and it was such a great, energizing experience!   We were able to connect with old friends, check in with some of our current wonderful partners as well as meet some new, fab folks who design some great pieces that you will be seeing on Trellis Home soon! Our trip started out perfectly as we made a beeline for Taylor Burke Home.  Started by two sisters Julianne Taylor and Lauren Burke, these two dynamos have quickly made a name for themselves with a contemporary twist on classic design. We adored their fabric topped coffee tables and amazing side tables. Sharing a space with Taylor Burke Home was the lovely and inspirational Mary Catherine Folmar from Birmingham, AL who was showcasing her fabric line Cotton and Quill. The whimsical style of Stray Dog Designs is always fun to see.  We loved their minimal pink mirror and console and, natch, the elephant bookends. We were lucky enough to meet up with old friend and interior designer Cathy Austin from Bespoke Banter in Charlotte, NC for a quick chat.  She could not have picked more spectacular surroundings as we met up at Currey & Co. where […] View full article →

Spotlight on Lori Warner

Trellis Home is honored to be able to share with you work from artist and friend Lori Warner. A master printer in monotype, Lori’s work often references the landscape that surrounds her. This is particularly apparent in the vibrant colors and reflective qualities of her Bahamas monotypes. While an undergraduate she studied Photography as a double major, graduating with the highest honors from RISD and receiving the award for Excellence in Printmaking Since her childhood, Lori has spent the majority of her winters in the Islands of the Bahamas. In 2009 she partnered with Staniel Cay Yacht Club to begin a series of printmaking workshops held throughout the year. During these workshops, she also creates a series of her own work. Lori’s original monotypes and limited edition giclee prints have steadily developed a strong following. In this series she captures the essence of the Islands through the colors of the water, flora and coral island landscape. We are thrilled to be featuring four of her fabulous giclee prints from her Bahamaian series. These prints all complement each other in beautiful blue hues featuring seascapes inspired by the tranquil Carribbean. You can really fill a wall with some interesting visual images […] View full article →

Divine Dining

Who doesn’t love a relaxed evening, enjoying good food, great friends and lively conversation?  A beautiful and welcoming table will encourage those memorable evenings, lingering over conversation, sipping wine and sharing stories and lots of laughter. Yummy easy recipes featuring the bounty of the early Fall harvest paired with a beautiful table is just the ticket for success as a host.  Our chinoiserie melamine table settings are the perfect element that brings together polished but contemporary table.  It’s the perfect combination of sophisticated traditional design but modern-day functionality. As for dinner, make sure it’s easy to to prepare and full of all the wonderful, seasonal selections that the early Fall has to offer. We just love the quintessential dinner-with-friends that was featured a few years ago in Elle Decor by Daniel Boulud in his column, “Daniels Dish”.  It has a divine iceberg salad followed by steak and ‘creamless’ corn as a simple, delicious seasonal supper.  Take a look below for a link to his perfect menu. http://www.elledecor.com/culture/daniels-dish/grilled-rib-eye-iceberg-salad-creamless-creamed-corn-recipe-65754 We like to even bring a bit more color into the meal by changing the corn side up a bit.  Go to your local farmer’s market and grab some delicious ears of corn, […] View full article →

Let’s light this candle, baby!

Trellis Home is a creation of two friends who just kept crossing paths at key moments in our lives, spanning 30 years of friendship. Growing up together in Cincinnati, Ohio, we always made each other laugh, and always liked the same things.  After college, our paths crossed in San Francisco and then again in New York as we were making our careers in fashion (Allison) and marketing (Liza). Then we both got married. And we both got married in the Bahamas!  To guys that are totally great, and totally tolerate our obsession with all things interior design.  And as we took a few years off to have our children, settled down in smaller towns, we made sure our paths crossed as much as we could. One summer a few years ago, sitting on a beach in Cape Cod, as our children splashed in the surf, we compared notes on what we wanted to do next.  And whaddaya know? Our paths crossed again. So Trellis Home was born.  Born from love of a beautiful, colorful and happy home. We still make each other laugh, and we still like all the same things. And we hope that you will, too.  We want […] View full article →
