#ViewonVegas: TH hits Las Vegas Market!

Um, are we awake yet?  Juuuust getting there after our whirlwind introduction to Las Vegas market.  Trellis Home was thrilled to be a part of the 2015 Las Vegas Market ‪#‎ViewOnVegas‬ Designer Instagram takeover, and are humbled to be in the company of so many talented tastemakers!!  Not only that, we were so lucky to host a fantastic group of design campers on a tour of fabulous showrooms that participated in Design Campus Live.  What a show! So it begins!  We were thrilled to meet Kelli Ellis and Lori Dennis of Design Campus Live – can you tell? We began our Design Campus Live tour with the delightful showroom of Selamat Designs.  They have a fresh take on classic traditions, we love what they have done!  How about this fabulous fixture?   And this wonderful navy and white vignette – love it all! And Hello, Mr. Brown!  How about this insanely great console from Mr. Brown of London? We loved everything about their booth.  This vignette with the curved white bench and blue velvet was so lovely.  It feels from another era, yet very current at the same time. Another fave as always was Phillips Collection.  Their pieces are always intriguing and inspirational.  This company is […] View full article →

Dixie Chicks: The TH Girls Hit the Highway

We’ve been dreaming for years to make a shopping excursion to the Dixie Highway in Palm Beach and our trip to Maison et Objet in Miami (blog post on that next week!) gave us a perfect excuse to sneak up there.  So many delights to be found as you poke around antique shop after shop down this storied street. The Elephant’s Foot – 3800 S. Dixie Highway Our first stop was The Elephant’s Foot.  You enter this store and feel like you’ve peered behind the curtain at the design secrets of Palm Beach’s grandest houses.  Large scale urns, blackamoors, porcelain animals are at every turn.  You can find some really unique and obviously custom pieces as you browse.  We saw a crazy cool shaped bamboo bar with chinoiserie inlay, as well as a pair of cowhide covered (!) dressers.  Such an experience! Mecox Gardens – 3900 S. Dixie Highway Next door is the always fabulous Mecox Gardens.  While Mecox is not unique to the Dixie Highway – they have stores in New York, the Hamptons etc  – this outlet is brimming with Florida style and their famous vignettes are uber chic as always. Brass Scale Antiques – 3721 S. Dixie Highway […] View full article →

Spectacular Showhouse: High Design in High Point

Whew – we just had whirlwind trip to High Point and had a ball.  Sadly we missed all the hubbub of market week (Spring Break, why do you always clash with HPMKT?!), but in a way, our quiet trip was a lovely time and we felt we could take our time and breathe it all in. The centerpiece of our trip was a visit to the Junior League of High Point’s fantastic showhouse where incredible talent combined forces in this beautiful historic home. The darling foyer designed by Tracy Zeller featuring a blue and white gingham wood tiled floor by Mirth Studio sets the tone for the colorful delights that await you.  And then – WOW, Warhol!  You can never go wrong with blue and white and this definiitely holds true in the living room designed by Jack Fhillips and Sally Altizer.   This room is cool and cozy all at the same time and features two fabulous Warhols from Fhillips own collection. We are huge fans of the Madcap Cottage gents – Jason Oliver Nixon and John Loecke – and their dining room for the showhouse does not disappoint.  The Fromental wallpaper made us swoon and, as it is with these two, it’s […] View full article →

One Couch: Three Ways

We just love this Charlotte Sofa by our fantastic vendor Society Social.  We had it covered in a seafoam linen with vanilla piping and tufting.  Then came the fun!  Here are three great ways to use what accents you have around you to make three distinct and sophisticated looks. VERSION ONE:  Midcentury Moment We call this our Mad Men version.  Using brass accents, a bar cart with all the trimmings (natch), two fabulous chinoiserie panels by Liza Hathaway Matthews and some metallic/geometric pillows, this vignette is ready for you to put on your best cocktail dress and get ready to throw a real wingding.   VERSION TWO:  Palm Beach Chic Lord knows with the way the weather has been in the Northeast lately, we all need a dose of some Carribbean breezes and Floridian style to take us away!   Using blue and white as a our basic color scheme for accents, we used rattan accent tables, brightly colored and patterned lamps and pillows, our own custom designed trellis rug, added a fabulous print of a bahamian seascape and…. aahhhhhh…..   VERSION THREE:  Orange Crush What’s our favorite accent color?  Why orange of course!  Coral, melon or vibrant tangerine – we love it all! Notes from AmericasMart: Fresh and fun and full of surprises!

Well, it was our first time down at the Atlanta show and we only went for one night just to check it out.  Wow, we could have spent many more days there and still found inspiration.  We found to our pleasure that Atlanta is a mash-up of High Point and NY NOW – so lots to see – furniture, lighting, and accessories. One of our favorite places in Atlanta featured – no surprise – some of our favorite people and their brands.  An insanely great booth created by Taylor Burke Home, Dunes & Duchess, and Cotton & Quill.  We have mentioned all of these fabulous ladies and their fantastic products many times, but here’s what stood out:  creating a space and design vibe that by working together,  transcends the rest.  That collaboration lifts everything up – including the spirits of all those who happened by.  The navy/green/yellow combo in the main salon of the booth was a showstopper! Cotton + Quill introduced new wallpapers based on her fabrics.  Even in grasscloth – truly great.  She also transformed some of her fabrics that she collaborated with artist Liza Hathaway Matthews into wallpaper – these girls are all about working together!!! Ok, last words on […] View full article →

High Point Highlights: What we loved!

Well, we just got back from High Point, and there were so many wonderful things to see, our heads are spinning. We were lucky enough to catch up with current partners like  Taylor Burke Home,  Cotton and Quill, Pyar + Co and Red Egg – who ALL have gorgeous new and exciting things to show.  But we also fell in love with new finds such as Parker Kennedy Living whose vignettes were swoonful.  And our accessories partner, Dana Gibson, has debuted an absolutely showstopping new furniture collection with Miles Talbott.   We saw sumptuous furniture at C.R. Laine, gorgeous one-of-a-kind lighting with Louise Gaskill, colorful and fun accent pieces at Dunes + Duchess. We saw pops of yellow, orange and green in fantastic furniture pieces that really punch up a room.  Metallics – our new favorite, are everywhere:  nailheads, rivets, and bases for furniture.  And what is the new neutral – gorgeous, serene, grey.  It was everywhere – who knew such a shy color could create such powerful impact. Parker Kennedy Living – beyond. Dana Gibson for Miles Talbott was to die for Taylor Burke Home + Cotton and Quill brought it Inspiration was EVERYWHERE WHEW.  What fun!  We can’t wait […] View full article →
